Position Details

• Patient Ratios: Variable
• Unit Staffing: 5 Respiratory Therapists per shift
• Equipment Used: Ventilators (Dragers, Hamilton), BiPAP (Hamilton, V60)
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Floating Policy: Not applicable
• Patient Experience: AIDET communication model used
• Dress Code: Ceil blue scrubs

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• RRT or CRT license/certification
• Valid Respiratory Therapist (RT) License/Certification

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in respiratory therapy specialty
• Required Skills:

  • At least Level II trauma experience
  • Experience with pediatrics
  • Critical care experience

Procedures & Responsibilities

• ABG (Arterial Blood Gas) draws and analysis
• Ventilator management
• Non-invasive ventilation (NIV)
• High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC)
• Routine floor care
• Intubation assistance
• Bronchoscopy assistance
• Intra-hospital patient transportation
