Job Opportunity: RN - Behavioral Health (Travel)

Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

Specialty: Psychiatry / Behavioral Health
Shift: 12-hour shifts
Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
Float Requirements: Within units of Behavioral Health Department
Patient Population: Adults (18+)
Number of Beds: 81 (Behavioral Health Hospital)
Patient Ratios: Ranges from 1:10 to 2:23 depending on unit
EHR System: Cerner
Equipment: Omnicell

Required Qualifications

Licenses: Registered Nurse License (RN)
Certifications:
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI) OR Healthcare Worker Certification (HWC)
Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in acute inpatient behavioral health
Prior Travel Experience: Not specified / not required

Job Responsibilities & Environment

Acute crisis stabilization for psychiatric disorders
Management of ethanol (ETOH) and benzodiazepine withdrawal/detox
Work within a behavioral health unit that includes adult psychiatric patients
Orientation provided twice monthly

Additional Information

Dress Code: Scrubs of any color allowed; denim and camouflage attire are not acceptable
Facility includes specialized centers such as Brain, Cancer, Heart, Lung, Orthopedics, Surgical Weight Loss, Women’s Center, and Level 3 NICU (context for hospital system)

This role is ideal for RNs with behavioral health experience seeking a travel assignment in a well-equipped adult psychiatric hospital setting.
