Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele Float RN)

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: MS/Tele Float RN
  • Shift: 3x12 hour night shifts (1900-0700)
    • Option to request 4x12 shifts for approval
  • Start Date: February 10, 2026
  • Floating: Required (overhire float unit)
  • Charting System: EPIC experience required
  • License: Must have New York RN license in hand
  • Certifications: BLS required (AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted)
  • Travel Experience: First-time travelers accepted
  • Local Candidates: Must live more than 75 miles from the facility

Required Experience

Certifications & Competencies

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as required by unit

  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as required by unit
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as required by unit
  • EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - as required by unit
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam - as required
  • Competency Exam - as required by specialty
  • Color Blind Testing (one-time)
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
  • State License Verification (Primary Source) within 30 days of start
  • NURSYS Verification within 30 days of start

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete all health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract:

  • Physical Exam (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Fit Mask Test (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (within 1 year)
  • TB Questionnaire (in lieu of annual TB test renewal)
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles) - positive titer or 2 vaccines
    • Mumps - positive titer or 2 vaccines
    • Rubella - positive titer or 1 MMR/Rubella vaccine
    • Hepatitis B - positive titer, completed series, or declination
    • Varicella - positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history
  • Drug Testing (within 30 days of start)
  • Flu Vaccination or signed declination (required during flu season)
  • Eye Exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
  • COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background & Verification

  • 7-year criminal background check (felony checks) within 3 months of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
  • Education verification from primary source required
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation if applicable
  • Transcript/Diploma if no education verification on file
  • Employment verification of at least 2 past employments
  • References (2 within 3 years) required for Aya candidates only
  • State-specific checks including:
    • NY Sex Offender Registry (within 30 days of start)
    • NY Medicaid Exclusion List (within 3 months of start, run monthly)
    • Fingerprinting and disciplinary action search may be required depending on unit

Additional Notes

  • Government-issued photo ID required
  • Passport-style photo required for badge
  • Candidates will receive access to required online modules prior to start
  • Must be able to complete all pre-employment compliance requirements timely

This position is ideal for RNs with float experience who are comfortable working night shifts and have EPIC charting experience. Prior travel experience is not required, and first-time travelers are welcome.
