Position Details

- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Floating: Yes, may be required to float between multiple campuses within the system based on census and staffing needs
Experience & Licensure Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: 2 years

- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

- Special Requirements:
- Epic electronic health record experience
- Radiation badge required (must be provided by agency; facility does not provide)

Scheduling & Work Conditions

Important Seasonal Note
- Hurricane Season: June through November (peak in August and September)
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during this time
- New or extension assignments during hurricane season should be carefully considered
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background & Verification
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
- SSN Trace
- Statewide and national criminal checks
- Sex offender registry
- FACIS 3
- Background check must be run within 90 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed
- Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers required
- References: Proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the same unit
Licensure & Certifications
- Primary source verification of SC RRT license required (active, unencumbered, no pending actions)
- NURSYS verification as applicable
- Certifications must be current and not expiring within 30 days of start
- Radiation badge required before starting patient care; may take 5-7 days to process
Health & Immunizations
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, updated annually, confirming ability to work without restrictions
- Respirator medical clearance (RespSafety) required annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or declination forms accepted for:
- Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titers or vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer or vaccines)
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start; if positive, additional documentation required
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Aug 1 - Apr 30) or medical/religious exemption; declinations not accepted
- COVID vaccination not required but highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
Facility Specific
- Completion of orientation modules (approx. 2 hours) prior to start; must be done on a computer, not a phone
- First Day Instructions (FDI) and OurDay platform used for document uploads and training
- Passport-style photo required for badge (frontal view, solid light background)
- Completion of facility-specific forms including confidentiality, contractor forms, ID badge request, and job description acknowledgment
