Job Opportunity: Pharmacist (Travel/Contract)
Location: Hobbs, New Mexico

Job Details
- Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off (Wednesday through Tuesday)
- Shift Hours: 07:00 AM - 05:00 PM
- On-Call: Yes, on-call during 7-day on shift rotation for order verification after hours
- Weekends: Required every other weekend
- Floating: No floating between units
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care
- Total Beds: 61
- Parking: Free in any unrestricted space
Experience Requirements
- Years of Specialty Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum 1 year (1YR/1ST TIMERS OK)

Certifications & Licenses Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS): AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP): Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society (if applicable)
- Chemotherapy Certification: Verify if required based on clinical track
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM): Verify if required based on clinical track
- State Professional License: Must be current and valid for New Mexico
- NURSYS Verification: Required for applicable licenses (RNs, LPNs, APs)
- IV Certification: Verify if required based on clinical track
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB): Verify if required
- NIH Stroke Certification: Verify if required, renewed every 2 years
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute): Verify if required
Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exams as required by specialty/profession
- Color Blind Testing (if specifically requested)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- Fit Mask Test: Required for all new travel starts; must be updated annually
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Required within 10 years (declination accepted)
- TB Test: IGRA/TSPOT, QGold, or 2 PPDs within 12 months; annual updates required
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted
- Hepatitis B: Vaccination series or signed declination; titers accepted
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; declination accepted
- Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (9/1–3/30); declination accepted
- COVID Vaccine or Declination: Required unless non-clinical remote worker
- Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required for all new travel starts; annual clearance needed
Background & Documentation
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- Education verification required for all candidates
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for APN/Subcontractors)
- Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment in specialty (6 months for CNAs)
- Skills checklists as applicable, updated annually
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
Additional Notes
- Call pay includes minimum 1 hour plus standby pay; call arrangements may be negotiable
- No 48-hour workweek approval
- Floating policy acknowledgment required (may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance)
- Required completion of Providence WorkRamp training modules based on specialty and region
- Facility-specific and state-specific background checks and attestations may apply
This position is suitable for pharmacists with at least 1 year of experience, including those new to travel assignments. The role requires on-call availability and weekend work every other weekend, with a structured 7-on/7-off schedule.
