Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Germantown, Tennessee

Job Details

• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg experience
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (One year of travel experience required; first-timers not accepted)
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6 or 1:7
• Nursing Model: Transitioning to team nursing; LPNs being hired to assist
• Start Dates: February 9 and February 23
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed; weekend block schedule may be considered but not guaranteed
• Locals: Not accepted (100-mile radius rule)
• Licensing: Must be compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines; pending licenses not accepted
• Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: All RTO must be included at time of submission; late submissions will not be approved

Certifications & Licenses Required

• State License: Tennessee RN license or multistate license required
• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only, required for all candidates
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Med Surg and related units
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs except those at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit or specialty (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) but not specified for this role

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Statewide, county, federal, and education verifications within 60 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated annually
  • Sex Offender Search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry (TN only)
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (proof of vaccination or titer required; declinations not accepted)
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results accepted)
  • Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start (must pass; facial hair not allowed)
• Competency Exams: Must be current within 1 year and updated annually (medication/pharmacology competency, core parts I-III)
• References: Two recent professional references required
• Performance Evaluations: Required if employed with agency for 1 year or more

Facility Specific Information

• Dress Code:

  • Navy blue scrubs for RNs
  • No prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
  • Business casual with white lab coat for RN Case Managers
• Photo for Badge: Must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, taken within last 6 months)
• Submission Policy: Candidates can only be submitted to one job ID at a time
