Job Details

• License Requirements:

  • Must have a Compact or Tennessee nursing license at time of application
  • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility

Experience Requirements

• Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years Med Surg experience
• Travel Experience: 2 years Med Surg experience with travel required
• Additional Notes:

  • Not a first-time traveler unless candidate has 3+ years recent experience
  • Large hospital and Level 1 trauma experience preferred

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only, required for all candidates
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Med Surg/Telemetry and other critical care areas
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs except those working at the Children's Hospital
• Other Certifications:

  • PALS not required for this unit
  • TNCC preferred but not required

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Statewide, county, federal, and education verifications within 60 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
  • Sex Offender Search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry (TN only)
• Health Documents:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (proof of vaccines or positive titers with boosters if needed)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer or declination
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
  • Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending results allowed)
  • Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year (must pass without limitations)
• Competency Exams:

  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam within 1 year and updated annually
  • Core competency exams (Parts I, II, III) required annually for case managers (if applicable)
• References: Two recent professional references required
• Performance Evaluations: Required if employed with agency for 1 year or more

Facility Specific Information

• Dress Code:

  • Navy blue scrubs for RNs
  • No prints or embroidered scrubs allowed
  • Business casual with white lab coat for RN Case Managers
• Photo for Badge:

  • Must be recent (within 6 months), passport-style, no hats or head coverings (unless religious), no glasses glare, neutral expression
• Other:

  • Must sign confidentiality acknowledgment prior to start
  • EPIC questionnaire required for RNs (testing out possible if experienced)

• Return to Offer (RTO) must be submitted at time of application; late submissions will not be accepted
