Job Description

• Promote pharmaceutical care by managing the medication process, identifying and preventing potential drug-related problems, and resolving actual drug-related problems.
• Perform duties of a registered pharmacist as defined by the facility.
• Provide care appropriate for patients ranging from 0 to adult.
• Ensure appropriateness of all medication doses considering patient diagnosis, weight/body surface area, allergies, and drug interactions.
• Accurately enter medication orders into the computer system.
• Verify that patients receive the correct medications, minimizing dispensing errors.
• Process medication orders and deliver doses within established guidelines.
• Follow aseptic technique and infection control in the preparation of sterile products.
• Enforce aseptic technique and infection control practices among technicians and other pharmacists.
• Complete annual re-certification and achieve at least 90% on aseptic technique/infection control skills and written exam.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
• Licensed Pharmacist (RPH) with a valid, unrestricted license to practice in Texas.
