Position Details

• Specialty: CST/ORT (Certified Surgical Technologist / Operating Room Technician)

• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

• Unit: Spine, Joint, and International Hip Preservation Center
• Number of ORs: 13
• Staffing: Approximately 26.7 full-time equivalents (FTEs)
• Shift: Day shift (7 AM - 7 PM)
• Patient Ratios: 1 RN/CST per OR
• Equipment: Multiple OR equipment available in each OR

Required Qualifications

• Certifications:

  • NBSTA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
  • DORA (Division of Regulatory Agencies) Certifications
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Orthopedic and/or Spine surgical settings
• Skills:

  • Orthopedic, sports medicine, and total joint experience required
  • Spine surgical experience required
• Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required

Typical Procedures

• Hip, knee, and shoulder joint replacements
• Arthroscopic sports medicine cases
• Hip Preservation PAO (Periacetabular Osteotomy) cases
• Spine surgeries including repair and fusion

Work Environment

• Fast-paced unit requiring adaptability to various personalities
• Collaborative team with variable RN/CST and ancillary staff depending on surgical schedule

• Candidates without orthopedic or spine experience will not be considered
