Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) - Travel/Contract

Location: Largo, Maryland
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: February 9, 2026
Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (06:45 AM - 5:15 PM)
Weekend/On-call: Weekends and on-call required (10-15 on-call shifts per contract)

Job Description

• Position: CVOR RN (Cardiovascular Operating Room Registered Nurse)
• Experience Required: 5 years in specialty
• Circulating and scrub experience required (hard stop)
• Accepting first-time travelers with strong general OR experience across most service lines, including Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and General Surgery
• Floating within the specialty and general OR as needed based on case volume
• On-call shifts: Weekday/weeknight on-call from end of shift to 6:30 AM next day; weekend on-call is 24-hour coverage, equally divided among CVOR staff
• Surgical/sterile scrubs provided

Licenses & Certifications Required

• Maryland RN State License
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred

Work Requirements

• Weekend shifts required
• Holiday shifts required as scheduled
• Floating within specialty and general OR as needed

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Registered Nursing specialty (CVOR/OR)
• Prior travel experience not required (first-time travelers accepted with strong OR experience)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• I9 or Attestation
• Government Issued Photo ID
• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and various federal/state screenings
• Physical exam within 1 year including Latex Screen
• Fit mask test within 1 year
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TB test or chest X-ray (updated annually)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if applicable)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (titers or vaccines as required)
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption (seasonal)
  • COVID vaccination or exemption as per facility policy
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
• Two supervisory references within 1 year
• Employment application/resume within 30 days of start
• Previous 5 years of employment history verification

Competency Exams (as applicable)

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Color Blind Testing
• Competency Exam relevant to specialty
• Age Specific Competency Exam
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (excluding OR candidates)

Additional Notes

• Candidates must sign confidentiality and dress code agreements prior to start
• Security ID application must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
• Epic Portfolio Training Test Out available for eligible candidates
• Floating and on-call requirements are integral to the role
• Scrub and circulating experience in CVOR is mandatory
