Job Details

• Start Dates: February 9, February 23
• Shift Options: 48-hour or 36-hour shifts (please specify when applying)
• Nursing Ratios: Team nursing model (ratios assigned to team including LPNs, RNs, Nurse Techs, Resource Nurse)
• On-Call: As needed
• Weekend Requirement: As needed (weekend block schedule may be considered, but no full block scheduling)
• Locals: Not accepted (strict 100-mile radius rule)
• Pending License: Not accepted; must comply with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted unless candidate has 3+ years recent experience in specialty

Experience Requirements

• Years of Experience: Minimum 3 years recent experience in specialty (Medical Surgical with Float to ED Overflow)
• Prior Travel Experience: Required
• Special Requirements:

  • Level I Trauma experience required
  • Large hospital experience required

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only, required for all candidates except some allied health roles
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for Medical Surgical and ED areas
• NIH Stroke Certification: Required for all RNs except those working at the Children's Hospital
• Other certifications may be preferred or required depending on specific unit assignment (e.g., PALS, TNCC preferred but not required)

Licensure

• Tennessee RN license required or multistate license under Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 60 days of start including statewide, county, federal, and education verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and annually thereafter
• Sex offender search and Tennessee Adult Abuse Registry search (TN only)
• Education verification required (diploma/transcript not accepted in lieu)

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start, attesting ability to meet job demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Immunizations or proof of immunity required for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (3-shot series, positive titer, or signed declination)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Negative 10-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending compliance allowed)
• Fit test for 3M N-95 mask within 1 year of start (must pass; facial hair not allowed)

Additional Requirements

• Two recent professional references required
• Skills checklist and competency exams must be current and updated annually
• Photo for badge must meet strict guidelines (passport-style, no hats, no glasses glare, no filters)
• Facility-specific dress code: Navy blue scrubs for RNs, no prints or embroidered scrubs allowed

Notes

• Candidates must submit all requested time-off (RTO) at time of application; late submissions will not be approved
• Only one job submission allowed at this facility at a time
• Weekend block scheduling is generally not accommodated but may be considered on a case-by-case basis

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with trauma and large hospital experience who have prior travel contract experience and are ready to work in a Level I Trauma Center environment on a travel contract basis.
