Job Opportunity: Dosimetrist

Location: Salem, Oregon
Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology

Job Description

  • Design, develop, and implement radiotherapy plans using computer/manual computation.
  • Support and implement safe patient care practices aligned with hospital and department mission.
  • Accurately transfer and document treatment parameters manually or electronically.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification in Medical Dosimetry through the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) OR through the American Association of Medical Dosimetrists (AAMD).

Experience Requirements

  • Specialty Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; assume minimum certification and competency in dosimetry.

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

  • Background Checks: Criminal background check (7-year search), EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and international checks if applicable.

  • Competency Exams: Must pass competency exams relevant to the role.
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
    • Drug testing (10 panel) within 90 days of start.
    • Immunizations and titers including Tdap, TB screening, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination or declination.
  • Fit Mask Testing: Required onsite within the first week of starting (exceptions apply).

Additional Requirements

  • Clear copy of valid driver’s license, passport, or state ID.
  • Education verification as applicable.
  • References: Two references within the last 2 years showing 1 year in a comparable specialty, with at least one supervisory reference within the last 12 months.

Notes

  • Badge photo required at least 8 days prior to start.
  • Completion of required HealthStream modules by due date.
  • Dress code and scrub color information provided upon hire.
