Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (ER) - Maryland, Clinton
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ER)
- Location: Clinton, Maryland
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
- Shift: 3x12 hour day/night rotating shifts (0700-1930 & 1900-0730)
- Schedule Requirements:
- Every other weekend required
- Every other holiday required
- Float within skillset required
- Patient Setting: General Emergency Department (combined adult/pediatric)
Experience & Skills Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department nursing
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract)
- Charge Experience: Preferred
- Required Skills:
- Triage
- IV Starts
- Phlebotomy
- Patient Ratio: 1:4
Certifications & Exams Required
- Mandatory Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- Preferred Certifications:
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention)
- MAB (Medication Administration by Barcode)
- Competency Exam:
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
Additional Requirements
- References: Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Work History: Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps; verification of at least 2 years employment in the past 7 years
- Background Checks: Criminal background check within 90 days including multiple state and federal searches
- Health Documents:
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
- Required immunizations or titers for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- N95 Fit Test within 9 months and updated annually (client may complete on-site if needed)
- Licenses: Valid state nursing license required prior to start
- Other: Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and competency exams as assigned
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Department RNs with prior travel contract experience who meet the certification and competency requirements and are comfortable with rotating 12-hour shifts in a combined adult/pediatric ED setting.
