Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical/Surgical/Telemetry

Location: Akron, Ohio
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 9 weeks

Job Requirements

• Specialty: Medical/Surgical with Telemetry experience
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Certifications:

  • BLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) - required for submission
  • ACLS (AHA only, AHA RQI acceptable) - required for submission
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification (NIHSS) through Apex, Health Stream, and AHA - required prior to onboarding
• Licenses:

  • Valid nursing license verified through Nursys within 30 days of start
  • Primary source license/certificate verification required within 30 days of start
• Skills & Competency Exams:

  • Unit-specific competency exam (passing score required, updated annually)
  • Unit-specific skills checklist (updated annually)
  • EKG and Telemetry exams (passing score 80% or higher, updated annually)
  • Core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics (updated annually)
• Education: Accredited nursing degree through ACEN or CCNE required
• Experience with Epic: Must have Epic experience within the last year documented on resume
• Dress Code: Solid black scrubs required

Health & Safety Requirements

• COVID-19 Vaccine: Fully vaccinated (2 doses if applicable), exemptions considered case-by-case
• MMR: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required; no declinations accepted
• Hepatitis B: Titer or proof of complete vaccine series required; signed declinations accepted
• Influenza Vaccine: Required October-April; medical or religious exemptions require agency approval
• Tuberculosis Testing: 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) required; no declinations accepted
• Varicella: Titer or 2 adult vaccines required; no declinations accepted
• Tdap: Within 10 years of start; optional but recommended
• Annual TB Questionnaire: Must be completed, signed, and dated on facility form
• Drug Screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Fit Test: Required for all patient-facing positions, valid within one year and updated annually
• Health Statement: Pre-employment physical within one year of start confirming ability to perform job functions

Professional & Background Checks

• Criminal Background Check: FCRA compliant 7-year search plus SSN trace, counties, statewide, nationwide, OFAC, FACIS Level 3; must be run within 90 days of start
• OIG Search: Must be run within 90 days of start
• EPLS (Excluded Parties List System): Must be run within 90 days of start
• Education Verification: Third-party verification required
• Social Security Card: Must provide valid SSN or SCC
• Valid Government Issued Photo ID required

Additional Notes

• Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Only accepting up to 7 days max of RTO; no RTO allowed during first two weeks of assignment
• Block schedules are not allowed
• Candidates must submit a complete RN Submission Packet checklist signed by both candidate and agency
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg RNs with telemetry skills who meet the certification and health requirements and are comfortable working in a structured, long-term assignment environment.
