Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Twin Falls, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
A hospital in Idaho is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a 13-week contract.
Requirements & Qualifications
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- CRT or RRT (Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- STABLE certification
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) only required for NICU or travelers handling babies
Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- NICU experience is a must
- First-time travelers are acceptable (prior travel experience NOT required)
Patient Population & Work Environment
- Patient types range from NICU to geriatrics
- Units include ICU, stepdown, MedSurg, small Pediatrics unit (no PICU), and level III NICU
- Occasional ventilator management in NICU
- Work covers inpatient and ER settings
Job Duties
- Drawing and analyzing ABGs (arterial blood gases)
- Administering breathing treatments, BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilator management
- Assisting with bedside bronchoscopies
- Assisting with intubation and placement of LMA (laryngeal mask airway)
- No EKG responsibilities
Equipment Used
- Drager vents
- Cervo-NICU
- Hamilton transport vent
- Vapotherm
- Philips V60 and V30
Scheduling & Work Conditions
- 12-hour shifts (6 AM to 6 PM)
- Self-scheduling with block scheduling options
- Weekend work every other weekend
- Holiday work as needed
- Low call/standby requirements
- Floating to ICU, floors, NICU, and ER
- Required to attend one department meeting per month
- Dress code: Hunter green scrubs (not provided)
Orientation & Support
- One week of unit/department-specific orientation (based on experience)
- Always a team lead or charge therapist on shift; travelers may be charge if experienced and willing
- Traveler will never be the only RT in-house
Additional Notes
- Workload varies seasonally, with up to 30 treatments per shift at peak times
- Facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for candidates' permanent address
