Job Opportunity: Med Surg RN (Registered Nurse)

Location: Hayward, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: Med Surg RN
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in Med Surg nursing
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers welcome)
• Shift: Weekends only, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Unit: MedSurg Department
• Bed Count: 25 beds
• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Common Patient Types: Adult post-surgical (orthopedic), general medical (cardiac, pulmonary, renal, GI, urology)
• Drip Titration: Occasionally required (heparin, insulin, IV fluids, electrolytes, diltiazem, antibiotics, occasional dopamine, TPN)
• Tele/Monitor Techs: None; Mindray monitors used
• Nurse Aids: Yes, two during day shifts, 1.5 during PM shifts
• Respiratory Therapy: RT called in for vents and assists as needed; nurses provide support
• Scheduling: No self-scheduling; potential for block scheduling; 12-hour shifts starting at 3 AM or 3 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Call/Standby: No
• Floating: No
• Dress Code: Charcoal/pewter gray scrubs, any style (scrubs provided)
• Orientation: Unit-specific, dependent on individual

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) preferred
