Location: Maryville, Tennessee

Job Description
- Work in a step-down unit from ICU (no ventilators or pressor support)
- Manage drips including heparin, cardizem, amiodarone
- Sotolol initiation
- Telemetry monitoring
- Experience in ER holding required
- Must have 1 year of EPIC experience
- Floating within the hospital required based on skill set
- Must hold an active Tennessee nursing license
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year (based on EPIC experience requirement)
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications & Training Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or ARC only, valid at start
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or ARC only, valid at start
- NIHSS Certification: As applicable, valid at start
- Other Certifications (as applicable):
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – required if working in ER over 365 days
- PALS, NRP, EFM, ENPC – check unit-specific requirements
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) – check unit-specific requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam – annual requirement
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – required for all RN candidates
- Core Competency Training (Parts I, II, III) – annual, must pass exams with at least 80%
- State License Verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
Compliance & Documentation
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting as applicable
- Drug screening within 1 year, updated annually
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Physical exam within 1 year
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if working in high-risk areas)
- Flu vaccine or approved exemption (seasonal requirement)
- Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B documentation or declination
- Photo for badge (passport style, specific background and quality requirements)
- Completion of online orientation modules and testing prior to start (approx. 12-16 hours)
- Floating policy acknowledgment (annual)
- Internal evaluations and performance reviews if applicable
Additional Notes
- Floating within the hospital is required based on skill set
- Must have active Tennessee RN license and required certifications current at start
- EPIC experience of at least 1 year is mandatory
- ER holding experience required
- Telemetry and step-down unit experience preferred
- Orientation includes online modules and pass/fail testing that must be completed before starting
- Facility is latex-free environment
