Job Opportunity: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

Job Details

• Specialty: Surgical Services
• Shift: 8:45 AM - 9:15 PM, Weekday schedule
• On-Call: Overnight on call required; holiday on call shifts as applicable
• Scheduling: Blocked scheduling is not guaranteed
• Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in surgical services (highest requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required (locals and first-time travelers accepted)
• Epic Experience: Must have Epic experience within the last 12 months
• Certifications Required:

  • NBSTSA (National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Clinical Skills:

  • Experience scrubbing in all surgical areas except cardiovascular surgery
  • Understanding of scrubbing for various cases including craniotomies, laparoscopic, orthopedic, and endovascular procedures

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
• Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years; must be updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Physical exam within one year of start, attesting ability to meet physical demands
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within one year of start; annual TB questionnaire required
• N95 Fit Mask test within one year of start; must pass or contract will be cancelled
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31); no declinations or exemptions accepted
• COVID vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required prior to start
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
• Complete employment application/resume
• Skills checklist as applicable to specialty

Additional Notes

• Candidates must pass an Epic test-out (one attempt only) unless exempted; failure results in contract cancellation
• Appearance standards must be reviewed and signed prior to start
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required
• Various certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on role specifics (verify as applicable)
