Job Opportunity: Sonographer (Echocardiology Tech)

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (AHA) required
• Registered as RDCS or RCS from Cardiovascular Credentialing International required
• Active Illinois license or confirmation that application process has been initiated

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in Echocardiology preferred
• No explicit prior travel experience required

• Department: ECHO / Cardiac Sonographer
• Imaging/Studies Performed:

  • Adult Trans Thoracic Echos (complete and limited)
  • Stress Echos
  • Trans Esophageal Echos
• Average Studies Per Day: 6-8 per tech
• Equipment Used: Philips Epiq & Philips IE33
• EMR & PACS Systems: Epic (EMR), McKesson (CPACS)
• Radiologist reads exams onsite
• IV starts: If able, yes
• Number of scanners/rooms: 2 outpatient rooms; inpatient echos done in patient rooms
• No floating or coverage of other areas required
• No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) used
• Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech present on each shift

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Shifts: 8-hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (rotating start times)
• Saturday: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (staffed)
• Weekend Requirement: Every 5th weekend (staffed Saturday; on-call Sunday)
• Holiday Requirement: None
• Call Requirement: Yes, with 30-minute response time
• Orientation: Department-specific orientation Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
• Scrubs: Not provided; no specific scrub color required

Additional Notes

• Local placements accepted within a 50-mile radius
• Drug-free campus: Negative drug screen required for all panels
• Call off policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift
• Non-billable orientation hours: 12 hours (guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation)
