Job Summary

Seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings. This is a travel contract position in an acute care, Level II Trauma facility.

Requirements

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty.
• Must have at least 1 year of Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department experience.
• Acute care experience preferred.
• Will accept first-time travelers (prior travel experience NOT required).

Licenses & Certifications

• State license required (Pennsylvania).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.

Equipment Experience

Familiarity with the following equipment is preferred:

• Hamilton G5
• PB 980
• Respironics V60
• Optiflow
• Lumis tx
• Cough Assist
• Vest
• IPV

Work Conditions

• No on-call duties.
• Even weeks on (EOW) and even weeks off (EOH) schedule.
• Level II Trauma center.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

Background Checks

• Comprehensive background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check upon hire.
• HHS/OIG check upon hire.
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprint results required within 90 days of start.
• Education verification for highest level of education.
• State-specific searches including Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search, PATCH Search, and Medicheck Search.

Health & Safety

• Physical exam within 2 months of start.
• Fit mask test completed onsite.
• TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start.
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray as per guidelines.
• Required immunizations or titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
• Negative drug screen (10 panel or 9 panel without THC) within 60 days of start.
• COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved declination (with masking policy adherence).
• Respirator safety clearance required annually for respirator use.

Competency Exams & Testing

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%).
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (passing score 88%).
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) for RNs & LVNs (not behavioral health or certain remote/outpatient roles).
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual).
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing for RNs & LVNs (exceptions apply).

References & Work History

• Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within 12 months of start.
• Complete employment application with 7 years of work history and explanations for gaps over 90 days.

• RTO (Return to Origin) requests must be approved by the facility.
