Description

Job Opportunity: RN - Float (Travel)

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Shift: Days, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) coordinates and implements patient care tailored to the age of the patient population on assigned units. The RN ensures quality, efficient, and safe care consistent with unit standards and organizational goals. The role requires professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.


Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) & ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.
  • Certifications must be maintained without a grace period for renewal.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an RN in the specialty.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.
  • Sensitivity to patients’ rights in care delivery.
  • Clear and concise communication appropriate to the developmental age of patients.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases; varies by unit (OR, PACU, L&D, other patient care areas).
  • Clean, well-lighted, ventilated, smoke-free environment.
  • Subject to stressful professional relationships and variable working hours due to emergencies or schedule changes.
  • Requires ability to handle emergency/crisis situations.
  • Physical demands include prolonged standing and walking, heavy lifting and transferring of patients or equipment, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
  • Visual and hearing acuity within normal or correctable limits.
  • Manual dexterity and fine motor coordination required.

Supervision

  • Reports to Patient Care Director or Manager.

Note: No prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
