Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiology Clinic

Location: State College, Pennsylvania

Position Summary

Provide professional nursing care to patients following established standards, practices, and healthcare techniques. Demonstrate competence in making professional judgments related to patient care. Assist providers in patient care and education. Actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in coordinating patient care.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year nursing experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Practical nursing principles and skills for quality patient care, including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Understanding of medication effects on patients and patient education principles.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
• Familiarity with office procedures and medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during emergency situations.
• Problem identification, analysis, prioritization, quick decision-making, and recommending effective solutions.
• Ability to administer various medications and treatments and use different types of equipment for examination and treatment.

Licenses and Certifications

• Pennsylvania Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with renewal every two years.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced, stressful, high-traffic medical office environment.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids, and other clinic-related conditions.
• May require working irregular hours and travel to other offices.

Physical Demands

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
• Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• May require sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
