Job Description

• Position: Rehab Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience in the specialty or comparable/higher acuity area is required.
• No explicit mention of prior travel experience required.

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support): Required for all candidates. Must be AHA provider or AHA RQI. Other providers not accepted.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): Required for specific RN/unit positions (verify if applicable).
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support): Required for specific RN/unit positions (verify if applicable).
• Other certifications such as NRP, TNCC, EFM may be recommended depending on unit.

Licensure

• Valid Illinois RN license required.
• NURSYS verification must be completed within 30 days of assignment start.
• Candidates without an Illinois state license must complete fingerprinting and be added to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Registry.

Background and Verification Requirements

• 7-year background check including aliases, sex offender, criminal, federal, and education verification.
• Education verification required for highest level of education (ADN or BSN for RN).
• Employment verification covering last 7 years.
• Skills checklist updated annually.
• References: 2 required.
• Current resume including last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask models required).
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start.
• Immunizations and/or proof of immunity required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (declination allowed)
  • Varicella
• Flu seasonal vaccination/documentation required for 2025-26 season or approved medical/religious exemption.

Facility Specific Requirements

• Completion of facility orientation modules (~2 hours) prior to start.
• Passport-style photo for badge.
• COVID-19 vaccine exemption forms (religious or medical) if applicable, must be submitted and approved at least one week prior to documentation due date.

Additional Notes

• Candidates must have a valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• Fingerprinting must be completed in Illinois for those without an Illinois state license.
• All verifications and documentation must be completed timely to avoid delays in start date.
