Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
• Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
• Conduct home visits with periodic office meetings.
• Average patient load: 5-8 patients per day.
• Types of cases: Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
• Must have reliable transportation, current driver's license, and agency-required liability insurance.
• Mileage reimbursement provided for travel between patient homes (up to 75 miles radius).
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM business hours, plus on-call duties.
• On-call requirement: One weekend and two weekdays per month.
• Weekend rotation: One weekend per month as part of on-call.
• Travel distance: Approximately 100-200 miles per week.
• Charting system: Proficiency required in HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS (for RNs).

Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 1 full year of Adult Home Health experience or Hospice experience (whichever is higher).
• First-time travelers not accepted; must have recent specialty experience.
• Certifications: Current CPR and BLS required.
• Licensure: Must have an active RN license in hand; pending licenses are not accepted.
• Local candidates accepted within the same pay rate.
• Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and OASIS documentation systems.
• Must be willing to travel within a 75-mile radius from the home clinic.
• Dress code: Scrubs.

Additional Information

• Schedule may include Baylor Shift (4x10s, Friday-Monday) in some western territory positions, but most are standard 5x8 (Monday-Friday).
• Productivity expectations: 30 points per week (points assigned based on patient visits and activities).
• Background checks, drug screening, and various state-specific compliance documents are required prior to start.
• Health requirements include physical exam, negative TB test or chest X-ray, immunizations (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella), and COVID vaccination or declination.
• Candidates must complete compliance training, confidentiality agreements, and other facility-specific documentation prior to assignment start.
