Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Job Description

• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization lab procedures, including peripheral diagnostic/interventional procedures.
• Must be able to perform all cardiac cath lab procedures.
• Potential floating to another nearby facility as needed.
• Weekend coverage may be required to cover call vacancies.
• Shift options:

  • 07:30 to 16:00
  • Late shift 08:30 to 17:00 (to complete cases)
• Local rate differential applies.
• Charting system used: Epic.
• Scrubs provided.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab.
• EP (Electrophysiology) experience is a plus but not required.

Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• CCI RCIS (Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Comprehensive background checks required, including:

  • SSN Trace
  • County, State, Nationwide Criminal Search
  • Sex Offender Search
  • Education Verification
• Pennsylvania-specific requirements:

  • PA Department of Human Services Fingerprint Clearance within 90 days of start.
  • PA Child Abuse Search within 90 days of start.
  • PA PATCH and Medicheck Search Results within required timeframes.
• Education verification for highest level related to specialty.
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (9-panel without THC also acceptable).
• Physical exam within 2 months of start.
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray as applicable
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or positive antibody titer (declinations not accepted)
  • COVID-19 vaccination or signed declination with facility-specific form
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination with facility-specific form (subject to facility policy)
• Respirator fit test questionnaire and clearance required for respirator use starting 04/07/2025 and beyond.

Competency and Testing Requirements

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (passing score 80%) within 12 months of start.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (passing score 88%) annually for applicable staff.
• Pass/fail testing for EKG/medication required for RNs and LVNs (not applicable to this role but noted for clinical staff).

Additional Requirements

• Minimum of 2 professional references from employment within the last 12 months.
• Complete employment application with 7 years of work history and explanations for gaps over 90 days.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment and pass/fail testing acknowledgment as applicable.
