Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics - RRT (Travel/Contract)
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift:
- 18:30 - 07:00
- 48/36 biweekly rotation
- 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday & Sunday)
- No blocked schedules

Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics specialty
Licensure & Certifications
- NC Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in hand required
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- RRT credential
Prior Travel Experience
- Not a first-timer; prior travel experience is required (First-Timer OK: No)
Other Requirements
- Flu vaccination is mandatory; no exemptions or declinations accepted
- Local candidates within 75 miles considered at a local rate
- On-call is not required
- Orientation occurs bi-weekly
- NC license must be active and ready before start
Compliance & Documentation
- Background checks must be completed within 90 days of start, including SSN trace, county, alias, nationwide, sex offender, international (if applicable), and education verification
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella vaccinations or positive titers (no exemptions)
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccination for the 2025-26 season (mandatory for new hires starting Oct-Mar)
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation
Additional Notes
- Candidates must set up a Duke Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
- Two professional references required from employment within the last 12 months, with at least one supervisor reference
- Skills checklist and employment application must be current and complete
- Competency exams and unit-specific training required during orientation
- No on-call duties
- Candidates must comply with all facility-specific onboarding and training requirements
This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with prior travel contract experience who are licensed in North Carolina and meet all certification and health requirements.
