Job Description

• Work primarily in the Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) and Cardiac Stepdown Unit (CSU).
• CSICU is a 4-bed unit focused on adult and geriatric patients requiring critical care post cardiac, thoracic, vascular, and other surgical procedures.
• CSU is an 8-bed stepdown unit caring for patients recovering from cardiac, thoracic, or vascular surgery.
• Nurses must provide complex invasive hemodynamic monitoring and exhibit high professional competency.
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed.
• Work schedule options: 36 or 48 hours per week.
• Holiday shifts required, with every other weekend coverage.

Requirements

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Licenses & Certifications

• Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or a compact license (No temporary licenses accepted).
• Required certifications:

  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • AHA NIH Stroke Certification or Red Cross equivalent
• Preferred certification:

  • AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working in pediatric units.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Cardiac Vascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) or related specialty.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Additional Information

• This is a patient-facing, clinical role.
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used: Meditech.
• Dress code: Solid navy scrubs.
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week.
• Parking is available.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks (approximately 3 months).
