RN - Med Surg Travel Opportunity

Unit Information

• Unit: 3rd Floor, Neuro Med/Surg
• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Staffing: Tech support available on day and night shifts; Unit secretary 7am-7pm
• Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximetry, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Floating Policy: Contract labor floats first; rotation used when multiple contract staff scheduled
• Patient Experience: Provide attentive and compassionate care, bedside shift report, engage patients and families in plan of care

Required Qualifications

• Licenses: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Med/Surg nursing (highest required years of experience)
• Skills:

  • Med/Surg experience
  • Ability to prioritize care and multitask
  • Start IVs
  • Basic wound care
  • Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes

• Dress Code: Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms)
• Hospital Certifications: Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center
• Shift Details: 12-hour shifts, with weekend requirements
• Work Environment: Supportive tech and secretarial staff, use of advanced communication technology
