Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – MS/Tele

Location: Rochester, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Schedule & Work Details

• Shift: Day/Night rotation (07:00-19:00 / 19:00-07:00)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Must be available to work every other holiday, if needed
• Floating: Required to float within skillset
• Locals within 75 miles are not accepted
• Accepts first-time travelers
• Charting system: EPIC experience required

Required Licenses & Certifications

• Active New York Single State RN or LPN license (NY is not Compact)
• ACLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted)
• BLS (AHA Provider/Instructor/RQI accepted)

Required Clinical Skills & Experience

• IV therapy/phlebotomy
• Blood product administration
• Peripheral line care/management
• Cardiac monitoring & emergency response
• Interpretation & management of dysrhythmias
• Rapid response/code team participation
• Nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks
• Isolation precautions
• Wound care/wound vac and experience in MS/Tele settings

Unit Details

• Patient ratio: 1:5 (1:7 for MedSurg)
• Unit size: 26 beds
• Patient population: Post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, cardiac pharmacologic interventions
• Scrub color: Navy blue and white combinations

Health & Compliance Requirements

Candidates must complete health-related requirements and lab work within 5 days of signing the contract, including but not limited to:

• Physical exam (within 1 year)
• Fit mask test (annual)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year)
• Immunizations or titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug screening (within 30 days of start)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (during flu season)
• Eye exam (Snellen, within 1 year)
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required

Background & Verification

• 7-year criminal background check (felony checks) within 3 months of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start, run monthly
• Education verification from primary source required
• Transcript/diploma if no education verification on file
• NURSYS verification for RN/LPN/LVN/AP within 30 days of start
• References: 2 references within 3 years (required for some agencies)
• Employment history verification required

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
• Must be able to work every other weekend and holiday as needed
• Candidates must submit all scheduling requests with application
• Call-off policy allows up to three canceled shifts without penalty during the contract
