Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MS/Tele)

Job Details

• Start Date: February 17, 2026
• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, rotating day/night (07:00-19:00 / 19:00-07:00)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:7 (MedSurg)
• Unit Size: 26 beds
• Specialty Focus: Care of patients post PCI, pacemakers, AICDs, post MI, and cardiac pharmacological interventions
• Charting System: EPIC (required)
• Licensing: Must have New York RN license in hand (no exceptions)
• Certification Required: BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty (MS/Tele)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required; first-time travelers accepted
• Locals: Must live more than 75 miles from facility

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response including:

  • Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Use of Rapid Response and Code teams
• IV therapy and phlebotomy: Peripheral line care/management
• Respiratory care: Nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management
• Adherence to isolation precautions

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• 7-year criminal background check (including felony, SSN trace, national criminal, sex offender, education verification)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 3 months of start
• Foreign equivalency education evaluation if applicable
• Education verification from primary source (no hard copy degrees)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• Immunizations or titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Drug screening within 30 days of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination during flu season
• Eye exam (Snellen) within 1 year
• COVID vaccination copy preferred but not required
• References (2 within 3 years) required for Aya candidates
• Employment application and skills checklist annually
• Work history verification (minimum 2 past employments)
• State-specific documents including NYS Nurse Aide Registry (if applicable), criminal background fingerprinting (if applicable), sex offender registry, Medicaid exclusion list

Certifications (as required by unit)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider/instructor/RQI accepted
• PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start

• Scrub color: Any combination of navy and white
• Locals must be more than 75 miles away from the facility to qualify
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of MS/Tele experience who holds a current New York RN license and is comfortable working in a tertiary care hospital setting with cardiac patients. Prior travel experience is not required.
