Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lansing, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Every other Thursday to Sunday, 3x 12-hour night shifts
Start Date: ASAP
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours for 3 shifts

Required Experience & Skills

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years (highest requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-timers (implies prior travel experience required)
• Pediatric/PICU and Adult Critical Care experience required
• Work Setting Experience:

  • Emergency Room (ER)
  • Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Certifications Required

• State Respiratory Therapist License (Michigan)
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) by American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapist - Technician)

Clinical Skills & Competencies

• Airway Management
• Medication Administration

• Nebulizer Treatments
• BiPAP and CPAP
• Polysomnography/Sleep Studies: O2 Saturation monitoring
• Experience with Servo I and Hamilton G5 ventilators
• Epic electronic medical record system experience required

Schedule & Work Conditions

• Part-time position: every other Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• No on-call duties
• No floating outside scope of practice
• Locals accepted (no local radius rule)
• No pending licenses accepted
• Block scheduling not accommodated

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License/State ID
• Social Security Card
• E-Verify compliance
• Background checks within 30 days of start, including:

  • 7-year address history
  • National criminal history
  • Sex offender registry
  • FACIS Level 3
  • Education verification
• High school diploma/GED verification (except RNs)
• Current Michigan state license verification within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 12 months of start (must note latex sensitivity)
• OSHA Respirator Fit Mask form completed at least 1 week prior to start
• Immunizations and health documents:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • 10-panel drug screen with THC within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination (seasonal requirement)
• Facility-specific modules and documents to be completed prior to or at orientation
• References: 2 from previous employers
• Resume with 7-year work history
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Additional Notes

• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
• Candidate must submit Return to Office (RTO) restrictions at profile submission.
• Fingerprinting via Michigan MI LARA required only for specific locations, not required here.
• Candidate must complete facility-specific agreements and emergency contact information prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists with critical care and pediatric experience who have prior travel contract experience and are looking for a part-time travel opportunity with a reputable Magnet and Level 1 Trauma hospital.
