Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Lansing, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 3x 12-hour night shifts
Start Date: ASAP

Position Summary

• Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) specializing in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Patient Population: Pediatric and Adult critical care experience required
• Work Setting Experience: Emergency Room (ER), Adult ICU
• Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Magnet/Teaching hospital, Level 1 Trauma center
• Charting System: Epic experience required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-timers (i.e., prior travel experience required)
• Weekend Requirement: One weekend per month
• On-call: Not required
• Floating: No floating outside scope of practice

Certifications Required

• State Respiratory Therapist License (current Michigan license required)
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) by American Heart Association
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• CRTT (Certified Respiratory Therapist - Technician)

Respiratory Care Skills & Experience

• Airway Management
• Medication Administration
• Ventilator Management
• Oxygen Therapy
• Suctioning
• Pulmonary Toileting
• Nebulizer treatments
• BiPAP and CPAP management

Polysomnography / Sleep Studies Experience

• Oxygen Saturation monitoring

Equipment Experience

• Servo I ventilators
• Hamilton G5 ventilators

Work Hours & Scheduling

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours for 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Block scheduling: Not accommodated
• Locals accepted: Yes (no local radius rule)
• Pending license: Not accepted

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID (must be current throughout assignment)
• Social Security Card
• E-Verify compliance
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year Social Security Number Trace
  • National Criminal History Search (7 years)
  • National Sex Offender Database Search
  • FACIS Level 3 Search
  • Education Verification
• Physical Exam within 12 months (must note latex sensitivity)
• OSHA Respirator Fit Mask form completed at least 1 week prior to start
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination (during flu season)
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen including THC within 30 days of start
• References: 2 previous employer references required
• Resume with 7-year work history
• Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs with critical care background who have prior travel contract experience and are ready to work night shifts in a high-acuity, Magnet-recognized teaching hospital.
