Job Details

• Shifts: Weekends required, 3x12-hour night shifts
• Floating: May be required between campuses

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT - NBRC) certification required
• High School Diploma and College Diploma or official transcripts from a Respiratory Therapy program required
• Prior travel experience preferred (not explicitly required)

Experience

Certifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification (NBRC)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - may be required depending on unit
• Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education accreditation verification required
• High School Diploma/GED verification required
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)

Health Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire annually
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemptions reviewed)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required (at least 1 from a manager or formal leadership)
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Compliance with facility-specific policies including dress code, hand hygiene, fraud/waste/abuse training, and ethics policies
• Annual competency exams and unit-specific competency requirements may apply

Notes

• Fingerprinting must be completed using Ohio BCI & FBI codes and within 1 year of start date
• Background checks and drug screens must be current and clear prior to start
• Candidates may be required to complete additional unit-specific training or certifications upon hire

This position is ideal for experienced Respiratory Therapists comfortable with night shifts and weekend work, who are flexible to float between campuses and meet comprehensive compliance and health requirements.
