Job Opportunity: Special Procedures Tech - Radiology

Location: Miami, Florida
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: Interventional Radiology – Special Procedures
  • Number of Labs: 5
  • Staffing: 1-2 RNs + 1-2 Techs per case (depending on complexity)
  • Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:4 in holding area, depending on acuity
  • Equipment: GE Imaging
  • Documentation Systems: MacLab and Meditech
  • Shift Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Call Requirements: Monthly call shift burden goal less than 15; must float as needed and arrive within 30 minutes when called in

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, ARRT Certification
  • Procedural/Certification: RCIS or any procedural/cardiology-centered certification
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty (Special Procedures Tech)
    • Vascular Interventional Radiology procedural experience
    • Neuro-interventional experience (must have neuro experience)
  • Knowledge of Cath Lab/IR protocols and procedures
  • High-level communication skills

Typical Procedures Performed

  • Full scope of Interventional Radiology procedures including:
    • Structural procedures (TAVR, Mitra Clip)
    • Carotid stenting
    • Peripheral arterial cases
    • Lumbar punctures

Additional Preferences

  • Certifications such as CVT, ARRT, RCIS preferred
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced unit and function independently

  • Daily huddle calls to foster relationships with Director, staff, and patients
