Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Brownwood, Texas
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Start Date: Preferred within the next 3-4 weeks
Position Summary
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Unit (CCU) in an ICU setting. This is a travel/contract position.
Required Experience
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (ICU/CCU)

- ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) – Required as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification – Required as applicable with annual updates
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) – Required for Telemetry RNs
- State License Verification – Required within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP) – Required within 30 days of start
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement – Required and updated annually
- Tech Cert Verification – Required within 30 days of start
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check required within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
- Education verification or transcript/diploma required
- State-specific checks for Texas (DADS Employability Status Check and Employee Misconduct Registry) required within 30 days of start
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start (no pending results allowed)
- References: 2 references required within 3 years of start
- Employment application/resume required
- Skills checklist required and updated annually
Health and Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
- Fit mask test (3M 1860 Regular or 1860S), updated annually
- Immunizations/vaccinations required (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing):
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (annual questionnaire required)
- Rubeola (Measles) – positive titer or 2 vaccines; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
- Mumps – positive titer or 2 vaccines; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
- Rubella – positive titer or 2 vaccines; MMR booster if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B – positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella – positive titer or 2 vaccines; booster if negative/equivocal
- Flu seasonal vaccination or exemption for 2025-26 season
Facility Specific Requirements
Completion and signing of multiple facility-specific acknowledgments and forms prior to start, including:

- TB and Occupational Exposure Acknowledgment

Orientation includes mandatory modules (~3-4 hours) and parking availability
Additional Notes
- Pass/Fail testing for Telemetry nurses includes EKG and medication knowledge with up to 2 attempts to pass
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable
- Color Blind Testing required (online version accepted)
