Description

Job Opportunity: RN - CVICU (Travel)

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah
Unit: ICU (Cardiovascular ICU)
Employment Type: Travel

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 24
Number of Staff: 46
Patient Ratios:
- 1:2 typical
- 1:3 for PCU boarders
- 1:1 for sitters or higher acuity patients (IABP, CRRT, open hearts)
Unit Staffing: 1 CCT/US during day shift if >10 patients
Documentation System: EPIC
Scheduling: Straight nights or 50/50 (nights/days)
Floating Policy: May float to PCU or as a sitter anywhere in hospital inpatient

Requirements

Experience

Minimum 2 years ICU experience (1 year strong experience may be considered)
Cardiac nursing experience preferred
Prior travel experience not explicitly required

Certifications & Licenses

ACLS (Required)
BLS
NIH Certification
Registered Nurse License

Typical Procedures Performed

Rapid Sequence Intubations
Central line placements
Bronchoscopy
Intubation
Arterial line placement
Chest tube placement
Experience with ventilators, vasopressors, restraint use, arterial lines, and other ICU skills

Work Environment & Culture

Dress Code: Caribbean Blue scrubs
Weekend Shifts: 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week period
On-call: May be required
