Job Opportunity: RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Location: Richmond, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Information

Unit: Maternal Infant Unit
Beds: 24
Staff: 71 total
Shifts:
- Day Shift: labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary, leadership, educator
- Night Shift: labor nurse, nursery nurse, OB tech, secretary
Patient Ratios:
- Labor: 1:1 (most of the time)
- Post-partum: 5-6:1
- Nursery: 5-6:1
Equipment: GE fetal monitors
EMR System: Meditech, CPN

Job Requirements

Specialty: Labor & Delivery Nursing
Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of labor experience (preferred 2+ years with LDRP and high birth volumes)
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
Licenses: Registered Nurse License

Typical Procedures

Vaginal deliveries
C-sections
Care for antepartum patients
Newborn and post-partum care

Work Schedule

Every third weekend required
12 hours of on-call per 4-week schedule

Dress Code

Navy blue scrubs
Pink badges for infant security (MIU nurses)
