Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room (ER)

Job Description

• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room setting.
• Triage patients, obtain patient history and vital signs, and assess patients.
• Act independently to initiate immediate care in life-threatening situations when a physician is absent.
• Care for both acutely ill and non-acute patients.
• Perform multiple nursing procedures, both complex and simple.
• Assist physicians with procedures.
• Provide physical and psychological comfort to patients, families, and visitors.
• Provide discharge and follow-up instructions.
• Manage ambulance radio communications and give prehospital care orders independently.
• Work with sophisticated medical equipment in a frequently stressful environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments, intervene promptly, and participate in care planning (25%).
• Regularly assess patient needs and provide skilled nursing services as prescribed (25%).
• Process physician/provider orders accurately and timely, including medication changes (20%).
• Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and suggest improvements (15%).
• Collaborate with team members to update and revise treatment plans (15%).

Requirements

• Specialty: Emergency Room (ER) Nursing
• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of ER experience (required)
• Prior Travel Experience: Highly preferred (not strictly required)
• Licensure: Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys verification required)
• Certifications:

  • American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • American Heart Association PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) Certification
• Documentation:

  • Work history and skills checklist relevant to ER nursing (updated within 1 year)
  • Two supervisory reference forms from the last two years

• Candidates must be outside a 100-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).
