Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Twin Falls, Idaho
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

A hospital in Idaho is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RT) for a 13-week contract.


Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • CRT or RRT (Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist)
  • STABLE certification
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) only required for NICU or travelers handling babies

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience required
  • NICU experience is a must
  • First-time travelers are acceptable (prior travel experience not required)

Patient Population & Work Environment

  • Patient age range: NICU to geriatrics
  • Units covered: ICU, stepdown, MedSurg, small Pediatrics unit (no PICU), level III NICU (ventilator use occasionally)
  • Areas covered: Inpatient and Emergency Room (ER)
  • Treatments per day: Up to 30 per shift, workload varies by season and floor

Job Duties

  • Draw and analyze ABGs (arterial blood gases)
  • Administer breathing treatments, BiPAP, CPAP, and ventilator management
  • Assist with bedside bronchoscopies
  • Assist with intubation and may place LMA (laryngeal mask airway)
  • No EKG responsibilities

Equipment Used

  • Drager ventilators
  • Cervo-NICU ventilators
  • Hamilton transport ventilators
  • Vapotherm
  • Philips V60 and V30 ventilators

Scheduling & Work Hours

  • 12-hour shifts (6 AM to 6 PM)
  • Self-scheduling with block scheduling options
  • Must attend one department meeting per month
  • Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
  • Holiday work as needed
  • Low call or standby call requirement

Additional Information

  • Floating required across ICU, floors, NICU, and ER
  • Dress code: Hunter green scrubs (not provided)
  • Orientation: 1 week of unit/department-specific orientation based on experience
  • Always a team lead or charge therapist on shift; travelers may be charge if experienced and willing
  • Traveler will never be the only RT in-house

This position is suitable for respiratory therapists with at least 1 year of experience including NICU exposure, who are comfortable working varied patient populations and flexible scheduling. Prior travel experience is not required.
