Job Description

• Work in the Main Operating Room
• Schedule: Alternating weeks

  • Week 1: Monday - Wednesday
  • Week 2: Wednesday - Friday
• No on-call required
• Experience: 2-3 years strongly preferred
• Orientation: 3-4 days
• Exposure to robotic XI, orthopedic, spine/neuro, general/gyn, some ENT, ophthalmology, pain management, urology, vascular, and Level 2 trauma cases

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Instructor, Provider, or RQI accepted
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as applicable
• CHEMO (Chemotherapy) - as applicable
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as applicable
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - as applicable
• ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) - as applicable
• NIH Stroke Certification - as applicable
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) - required for RNs, includes pharmacology exam at orientation

Required Experience

• Minimum 3 years of specialty experience (defaulting to higher value from description)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required

Compliance & Background Checks

• 7-year background check required within 30 days of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year, updated annually (N-95 or Halyard Orange Duckbill masks accepted)

Health Requirements

• Immunizations and titers required (must be current or have boosters as needed):

  • TB test or chest X-ray (annual TBQ required)
  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination accepted)
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season (Oct-April)

Documentation & Other Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID required
• I9 or attestation required
• E-Verify or attestation required
• State nursing license verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement (annual update)
• Facility-specific documents including standards of conduct, dress code, behavior, COVID declination (if applicable), HIPAA and fair warning quiz, and orientation/safety training modules must be completed
• References: 2 references within 3 years of start
• Skills checklist updated annually

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in the Operating Room with a 13-week contract in Odessa, Texas.
