Job Details

Certifications & Licenses Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC certified
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - as applicable
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - if working in ED or Pediatrics
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - as required by unit
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - as required by unit
• EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - for L&D candidates
• State Nursing License - must be current and verified prior to start
• Other tech certifications as applicable to specialty and state

Experience & Competency Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel contract (travel experience required)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score 80% or higher) within 3 years
• Competency exams including Dysrhythmia/EKG exam with specific scoring requirements (if applicable to unit)
• Color Blind Testing (online or in-person)
• Skills checklist and work history verification required prior to start and updated annually

Background & Health Requirements

• Criminal background check within 90 days, including multi-state searches
• Education verification for highest degree required by position
• Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana), updated annually
• Physical exam confirming ability to perform work without accommodations and free from communicable disease
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years preferred)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 1 year, updated annually)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - documentation of 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or signed declination)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
• Photo for badge with specific guidelines (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)
• Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
• Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
