Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D) (Nights)

Job Description

• Provide skilled nursing care for maternity patients with basic knowledge of neonatal care.
• Regularly assess patients' needs and deliver nursing services as prescribed by physician plans and nursing standards.
• Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, assisting with transfers, responding to alarms, and call lights.
• Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and collaborate with team members to update or revise plans to improve patient care.
• Process and perform physician/provider orders accurately and timely.
• Follow up on medication changes and order clarifications as needed.

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of recent Labor & Delivery experience (highest required years of experience).
• Licensure: Active Michigan RN license (LARA and/or Nursys verification required).
• Certifications:

  • American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification
• References: Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
• Skills Checklist: Current to within 1 year, pertinent to Labor & Delivery specialty.
• Location Restriction: Candidates must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility (local candidates will not be considered).
• Scheduling: All scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of application; no scheduling changes will be approved after offer.

• Start dates: February 10, 11, 12
• February: 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23
• March: 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 23
• April: 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 29, 30
• May: 1, 5, 6, 7

Additional Information

• This position involves night shifts.
• The facility is an 86-bed acute care hospital located in northeast Michigan.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
