Position Overview

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) in Cath Lab
• Start Date: Next applicable orientation date (3-4 weeks out)

Experience Requirements

• Minimum RN experience before travel assignments: 18 months
• Preferred RN experience: 2 years
• First-time travelers accepted: Yes
• Prior travel experience: Not required

Certifications Required

• ACLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
• BLS (AHA or American Red Cross)
• Pending license accepted

Work Schedule & Requirements

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours for 3x12 shifts or 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
• On-call requirement: Evenings and weekends
• Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs
• Block schedule accommodation: No
• Locals accepted at same rate
• Smoke-free facility: All travelers must be nicotine-free (negative 10 panel + nicotine test required)

Compliance & Documentation

• Background Checks: 7-year criminal check within a year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprinting required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting)
• State License Verification and NURSYS verification required within 30 days of start
• Drug Testing: Negative 10 panel drug screen plus nicotine within 1 year of start
• Physical Exam: Completed within 6 months of start
• Immunizations:

  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox
  • TB Test or Chest X-Ray: Negative test within 1 year, updated annually
  • Flu Vaccine: Seasonal influenza vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
  • COVID-19: Initial vaccine series or approved medical/religious exemption required

Orientation & Training

• Online training modules must be completed by due date prior to start
• Modules must be completed on a computer using Google Chrome
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Pharmacology) administered during orientation (2 attempts allowed per test)
• Time-sensitive modules must be prioritized and completed without delay

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Employment application required
• Skills checklist must be updated annually
• Facility issues radiation badges if applicable
