Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RNFA) - Travel/Contract
Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description
- Must be proficient in endoscopic vein harvesting
- Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR) experience required
- Must have 3s or 4s skill levels in vein harvesting and cardiac areas
- Float coverage required for general department including ortho, vascular, gyn, thoracic, and general surgeries when cardiac is not applicable
- Will accept Surgical Technologist First Assist (STFA) or Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA)
- 5 years of experience strongly preferred (highest required years of experience)
- Previous travel experience strongly preferred (prior travel experience required)
- Desired start: February
- Shift options: 8 days on/40 hours per week or 10 days on/40 hours per week
- Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM
- Call requirement: 12-18 days per month
- Weekend requirement: 2-3 weekends per month
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Required if working in Pediatrics or ED
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Required if working in Pediatrics
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) - Required for all Emergency Department roles
- EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) - As applicable
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - As applicable
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement - Required
Required Competencies
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (completed within 1 year prior to assignment, passing score ≥ 80%)
- Competency Exam in specialty (completed within 1 year prior to assignment, passing score ≥ 80%)
- Color Blind Testing (required for laboratory settings only)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of specialty experience (highest required)
- Prior travel experience strongly preferred
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 30 days of start (annual TB testing NOT required)
- TB Questionnaire updated annually
- Proof of Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine
- Proof of Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella immunizations or positive titers
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or facility declination required
- Varicella immunization or positive titer
- 10-panel drug test including Marijuana/THC within 30 days of start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/spiritual exemption required for candidates starting after November 1
- Criminal background check within 45 days of start, including lifetime search back to age 18
- Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Michigan LARA fingerprinting required within 45 days of start for applicable positions
- Michigan Central Registry Clearance required for pediatric and certain specialty placements
Additional Requirements
- Complete application/resume with full 7 years work history, no gaps
- One professional reference from a supervisor or manager required
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Compliance with facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct, Appearance Standards, and vaccine exemption forms if applicable
- Fit mask testing required on-site (Honeywell DC365N95HC) for applicable roles
