• Unit: 6 Front Telemetry, Med Surg, Trauma
• Number of Beds: 33
• Number of Staff: 55
• Shift Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, Unit Secretary, 7-8 RNs, 2-3 PCTs
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, Unit Secretary, 7-8 RNs, 2 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 5 to 6 patients per nurse
• Equipment Used:

  • EKG
  • Code cart
  • Welch Allyn vital machines
  • Vascular Doppler
  • Wound vacs
  • Cultura Link interpreting services
  • Carescape monitors for rhythm monitoring (used during push meds like metoprolol)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: Meditech

Requirements

• Active Virginia or Compact RN License at submission
• Certifications: BLS & ACLS
• Must pass Basic Rhythm test

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Medical Surgical nursing
• Excellent patient focus

Typical Procedures Performed

• Small Incision & Drainage (I&D)
• Peritoneal Dialysis
• Thoracentesis (infrequent)
