Specialty & Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical
• Required Years of Experience: 2 years in a hospital setting (highest requirement)
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required

Licenses & Certifications

• Active Compact RN License at submission
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required

Unit Information

• Unit: Medical Surgical (PNCU)
• Number of Beds: 18
• Staff Composition: 13 RNs, 5 LPNs, 25 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per 1 nurse
• Equipment Used: Feeding pumps, PEG tubes, IVs, central lines, drains, EKGs
• EMR System: Meditech

Work Schedule & Environment

• Shifts: Day and Night shifts available
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Job Responsibilities & Skills

• Assist neurologist with bedside lumbar punctures (LPs)
• Perform central line dressing changes, tube feedings, wound care, Foley catheter insertion
• Strong teamwork, compassion, and patience required
• Preferred skills: Strong communication and neuro assessment skills
• Personality fit: Outgoing, team player, compassionate

This position is ideal for RNs with at least 2 years of hospital experience looking for a travel assignment in a medical-surgical unit with a supportive team environment.
