Unit Information

• Unit: Medical-Surgical (Neuro and Trauma)
• Number of Beds: 18
• Staff Composition: 13 RNs, 5 LPNs, 25 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 5-6 patients per nurse
• Equipment Used: Feeding pumps, PEG tubes, IVs, central lines, drains, EKGs
• EMR System: Meditech

Job Requirements

• Active Compact RN License at submission
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong sense of teamwork, compassion, and patience
• Preferred skills: Strong communication and neuro assessment skills
• Typical procedures: Assist neurologist with bedside lumbar punctures, central line dressing changes, tube feedings, wound care, Foley catheter insertion

Work Environment

• Shift Types: Day and Night shifts with clinical coordinators
• Floating Area: Med Surg
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
