Job Description

• Perform interventional radiology procedures including stents, ablations, angioplasty, angiograms, paracentesis, thoracentesis, nephrogram, kyphoplasty, peripherals, drainages, abdominal & pelvis, upper/lower extremities, genitourinary studies, vascular studies, venous access, and LP myelogram.
• Required skills: PACS, biopsies, contrast administration.
• Equipment experience: Siemens preferred.
• Daily caseload: Approximately 25 patients.
• Shift: Day shift (07:00-17:30 or 07:30-18:00), rotating day off.
• Weekend work required.
• First-time travelers accepted.
• No floating to sister facilities.
• Locals accepted.

Requirements

• Licenses/Certifications:

  • State license (Virginia permanent license required for Radiology Techs; temporary license NOT accepted)
  • ARRT certification
  • BLS (AHA provider card required)
• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of specialty experience in Interventional Radiology (default to higher if discrepancies)
• Special Skills:

  • Experience with IR/Angio special procedures as listed above
• Prior Travel Experience:

  • Not explicitly required

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Valid Virginia driver's license (if applicable)
• Background checks including lifetime criminal, education verification, and federal/state registries
• Education verification (diploma or transcript as applicable)
• Physical exam within 1 year prior to start
• Drug testing within 30 days prior to start
• Immunizations and health screenings:

  • TB test or chest X-ray as required
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination/declination documentation
  • Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
  • COVID vaccination documentation or declination
• Fit mask (N95) testing and documentation (annual update required)
• References: Two required from supervisors/managers within the last 2 years (outside of this facility if previously employed here)
• Employment application and work history verification (minimum 2 years)
• Skills checklist for clinical candidates
• Facility-specific documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, orientation packet, and Epic experience screening form (time sensitive)
• Completion of mandatory WorkRamp training modules within one week of signing (approx. 8 hours)

Additional Notes

• On-call is not required.
• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is not required.
• Block scheduling accommodations at manager's discretion.
• Return candidates with gaps greater than 30 days must complete updated documentation/forms.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a high-volume interventional radiology setting with a variety of advanced procedures and equipment. Candidates must meet strict licensure and certification requirements and complete comprehensive onboarding and compliance documentation.
