Job Opportunity: OR RN (Registered Nurse)

Location: Wheeling, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Specialty: OR RN - Operating Room Registered Nurse
• Shift: Day shifts, 8 or 10 hours (6-2, 7-3, 8-4, 9-5)
• Schedule:

  • 4 ten-hour shifts (7 AM - 5 PM)
  • Rotating weekends: 1 weekend day every 4-week schedule (8 AM - 3 PM on Sat or Sun)
  • 1 weekend day 2nd call every 4-week schedule (24-hour call from 7 AM to 7 AM)
  • 1-2 second calls per schedule (24-hour call one day on the weekend)
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes
• Floating: May float to OR holding area
• Orientation: Surgical Center/pre-op specific orientation

Work Environment

• 15 OR suites
• 55-70 cases per day
• Common cases include all procedures with same day and overnight stays
• EMR system: Currently Sunrise, transitioning to EPIC (go live April 1)

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license for West Virginia
• BLS Certification required
• IV skills are a must
• Surgical care knowledge, including robotics experience
• Scrubbing required for pre-op care only
• Must comply with a 50-mile radius rule and provide an unexpired driver’s license

Additional Notes

• This position is in a pre-op area referred to as the Surgical Center (not a free-standing surgical center)
• Dress code/scrub color provided by the facility

Experience Requirements

• Specialty experience: Minimum 1 year OR RN experience (implied by skills and responsibilities)
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

This role is ideal for an experienced OR RN with strong IV and surgical care skills, comfortable with robotics, and able to work rotating weekends and call shifts.
