Job Opportunity: RRT - Respiratory Therapy

Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Unit Type: ICU, Med Surg, ER, NICU
• Number of Beds: 160
• Staffing:

  • Day Shift: 5-6 minimum staff
  • Night Shift: 4-4.5 minimum staff
• Shift Times: 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM (36 hours per week)
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
• Call Requirements: None
• Patient Ratios: RVU System
• EMR System: EPIC

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credentials
• Certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP
• Level 3 NICU skills required (ability to work proficiently in NICU)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy specialty
• Acute care experience in Med Surg, ER, and ICU settings
• Experience managing BiPAPs, ventilators, Heated High Flow units
• Skilled in assisting with intubations and bedside bronchoscopies
• Proficient in EMR charting

Preferred Attributes

• Candidates with additional skills in ICU/CCU, NICU, and Emergency Care will be prioritized
• Ability to manage high patient loads and acuity
• Independent, self-motivated, and willing to assist with higher acuity patients
• Comfortable working in a Level 3 NICU environment

Equipment Used

• Ventilators: PB, Drager V500
• Respiratory Devices: Aerogon’s, V60 BiPAP, HHFNC, Hamilton C (transport), Oscillator, Jet, NITRIC, Bubble CPAP
